He is part of a team of board certified vascular surgeons who treat a wide variety of vascular conditions. Spider veins, and varicose veins are all treated with the latest therapies which make the procedures safer and more effective than what has been available in previous years.
Treatment Options
As a vascular surgeon, Dr. Sales has the experience and qualifications to determine which treatment options are best for each vascular condition. Sclerotherapy is one treatment which is typically used for removing spider veins and reticular veins. The procedure utilizes an injectible liquid which will case the walls of the veins to collapse. It takes a few weeks for the body to reabsorb the tissues as the blemish gradually disappears. Foam Sclerotherapy is also an option. The only difference is that it uses a foam instead of a liquid which is typically used for treating larger veins.
Vein stripping is sometimes used when varicose veins are caused by faulty valves. This procedure is the actual removal of the vein from the leg through a couple of small incisions. Laser ablation is a endovenous procedure which is minimally invasive. It is used to eliminate reticular veins, spider veins and varicose veins. Since it is minimally invasive, it does not require a hospital visit and is usually completed in the doctor’s office. The procedure uses intense laser light pulses which will coagulate the vein so that it is absorbed by the body. Microphlebectomy is a procedure which will remove varicose veins by using several micro-incisions. This is also a minimally invasive procedure which will eliminate varicose veins.
